Ella Devereux is an award-winning health journalist and correspondent at the Health Service Journal (HSJ), where she covers the South London region and national developments in health technology.
With over four years of experience delivering sharp, analytical reporting in fast-paced newsrooms, Ella specialises in stories that sit at the intersection of policy, technology and workforce – bringing clarity to complex issues shaping the NHS and wider health sector.
A former editor of Kingston University’s award-winning student paper The River, she developed early strengths in leadership and storytelling. Before joining HSJ, Ella reported for Nursing Times, where she led national coverage on regulation, workforce and education in healthcare. Her work has also appeared in outlets including ITV Anglia, The Eastern Daily Press, DIVA Magazine, and The Brilliant Club.
Ella’s passion for uncovering the truth earned her the prestigious PPA Next Gen Award in 2024, with judges praising her relentless drive to seek out stories that matter.
